Hello Sweet Friends
Living in the Desert Southwest
We tend to search for any bit of shade we can find
Drivers will park far from the door of a store
If they can park in the shade of a tree
You just don't know how hot it gets
In the summer when you get into the your car
Any amount of shade helps keep it a tad cooler
For the 21 years that I have lived in my home
I have enjoyed the shade of this tree in my neighbors backyard
However, it has been a love/hate relationship
The tree SHEDS all year
Into my swimming pool
It has created tons of work for me
Especially since losing Mark
No matter how many hours I work in the backyard
And around the pool
I just can't seem to keep up with the mess
I've prayed for 11 years that the tree would disappear
The Lord never saw fit to say yes
Until
Today
After visiting with my mom
Shopping for her groceries and prescriptions
Coming home and then running my own errands
Getting my own groceries and finally coming home
I had sat down to relax a bit
When I heard the familiar sound of a chain saw
You just cannot imagine my JOY when:
My neighbor CUT The Tree DOWN
All of it!!
I actually ran outside and thanked the neighbor
For cutting it down.
We chatted awhile
He is a landscaper and offered to help me
Get my yard in shape
God finally said YES
And I couldn't be HAPPIER!!
And I couldn't be HAPPIER!!
I'm grateful that HE cares about the little things
I pray you find JOY in little things today
Even if you haven't been praying for it for 11 years
Blessings
Oh dear Cindy ~ How cool is that? Our God is an awesome God, and yes, he most definitely cares about the little things in our lives.
ReplyDeleteI think it's great that your neighbor is going to help you with your landscaping too! Yay Jesus for your tender loving care.
Have a GREAT week ~ FlowerLady
Ahhhh such a good story. So nice that he will help you. I am struggling today with finding JOY. It's a sad day . We are loosing a special person.
ReplyDeleteAh, the Lord is good!
ReplyDeleteCindy, you don't often hear people celebrate that a tree is being cut down but sometimes it is necessary. Sounds like it was right for you and your neighbor. Take him up on that offer of help. :)
ReplyDeleteI know in Arizona it gets unbearably hot. Too hot for me. My husband has relatives there and only visited once right after we married. It was up to 120!
ReplyDeleteWe have a love-hate feeling about our back-fence neighbor's trees. They do provide a bit of shade and privacy, but we (mainly The Man) clean up more leaves on our patio than we ever did when we actually had deciduous trees in our own yard! At least we don't have the added issue of leaves in a pool! Enjoy the tree-lessness (yeah, I just made that up)!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Carol
What might seem like small things to others are often big things for us! How precious of the Lord to answer your prayer so definitively after so many years.

Oh friend, what a precious story! The Lord cares for every detail in our lives. I had to smile when I read that your neighbor is a landscaper - what a BLESSING :)
ReplyDeleteLove and hugs to you!
Love this story Cindy and I can so relate as we had the same thing going on with a neighbors tree near our pool. It dropped leaves, was over sized and just waiting to fall in our next tornado. One day I too heard the sound of a chain saw and yes, after the Lord answered our prayers the tree came down. We were so thankful.
ReplyDeleteI know how happy your are too and the bonus is, your neighbor is a landscaper and will help with your yard. Awesome!!
Have a great week.
I'm slow to get around. Not been feeling too good with lots of migraines!!
Blessings xo
He listens to all our prayers, big or small and only on His perfect time He'll reply...But rest assured He will reply :-)
ReplyDeleteHugs,

That makes me laugh. We had a huge sycamore tree in our yard and my neighbor always complained about he little balls of fur that fell from it and clogged her pool. So when we got a pool, we got an eclectic cover for it to protect it from the fuzzies. I'm glad your prayer was answered.
