Hello Sweet Friends
I'm so happy you decided to stop by
Your visits always brighten my day
I thought I'd just share a couple of happy moments
Below is my Matthew
At 30 years old
He has been offered a job
And he is loving it
He started a couple of weeks ago
Here he is with his first pay check
He was so very excited
Believe me - it is already spent
But, he is SO happy
His bus picks him up at 6:30 am
And returns him home between 3:00-4:00 pm
Five days a week
He is tired - but he finally feels like he is doing
Something important
I'm thrilled for him
Congratulations Matthew
During the 21 years I have lived in my home
My family has been helped out by our local
Fire station 38 on numerous occasions
One day a fire truck pulled up to our front curb
Out jumps my oldest son
After the panic ended
The guys take my son's bicycle off the truck
Follow by a full sheet of plywood
Yep, he was trying to carry the plywood home
While riding his bike
(They picked him up and gave him a ride home)
They showed up the morning my husband passed
It was Christmas Eve
They didn't care - they were here for me
They have hauled my fluffy little self to the ED
A few times when my heart has given me fits
In the middle of the night
They have also assisted my youngest
Numerous times during the past couple of years
As he has battled mental illness and cutting
For those many reasons
And more
The guys at Station 38
Received several boxes of snacks today
And a heartfelt Thank You
From Me
Cannot thank them enough
But taking the time to acknowledge them
Is a Joy~filled Moment
Because my love language is Gifts
I find planning, creating, and putting together gifts
Gives me such Joy
Of course I love to receive too
But, like we always here
It is Better to Give than to Receive
I Agree
What is YOUR love language?
What makes you tic?
Blessings to you
Congratulations to Matthew! I know you and he are both so proud and should be.
ReplyDeleteI have always loved being there for others. I have a dear little elderly friend who I call every night to check on. She has family but as it often the case, they are busy. I talk to her about an hour each evening - we are both night owls. I just listen to her tell me every detail of what she has done daily and she is always so grateful for the call. I dearly love her and that is the least I can do. I just know of so many elderly that need someone to just listen.
I'm sure the fire department was thrilled with your considerate gift. I'm also sure they aren't thanked enough for their service.
Have a great week.
Judy
I have always loved giving to others. My mom said when I was little I liked to draw pictures for friends, neighbors and family and gave Valentines with a piece of candy all year round! I am in a wonderful church that is very involved in helping people in the community. It fits me perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for Matthew. Congrats to him. I know you are proud of him too.
ReplyDeleteI know the guys at Station 38 will enjoy all of your treats.
It does feel good to give to others.
Have a lovely day dear Cindy ~ FlowerLady
Congratulations to Matthew!!!

My love language is gifts of service.

Congratulations Matthew! A lady here in Texas is cheering for you!
ReplyDeleteI love that you thought of the fire fighters. You are there for each other and that's so important. ♥
I am so glad Matthew is finding his way--a shaky way, I am sure--but he is on the path he needs to be on to discover his true self. I think the job is a wonderful thing. It is always satisfying to know that you are integral to something--that you are needed---and wanted---and important. It sounds like the job serves all those purposes for your dear Matthew. Blessings-xo Diana
ReplyDeleteSo happy for Matthew. Congrats to him. That is awesome. Being married to a firefighter I can tell you they will so appreciate your snack pack. That is super sweet and so cute. You are such an angel to give back.

ReplyDeleteI am so happy for Matthew and both of you must be so proud! Paychecks do go fast no matter how much the number is. Giving is a good thing from both ends!

How wonderful those guys are to help your family out so much
ReplyDeleteGlad your son is happy with his job also a feeling of accomplishment
What makes me tic is a great flea market or estate sale and sweets haha
How wonderful that Matthew has a job and the responsibility that comes with that. Firefighters are the best! We had a block party on our street a while back, & one of our neighbors is good friends with our local firefighters, so he invited them to stop by if they could. Of course they did, and let all the kiddos explore the fire truck while we plied them with good eats! Great bunch of men.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't surprise me at all that your local firefighters have been there for you when you needed something. So sweet that you thanked them with goodies...those guys always seem to be hungry...lol!
Hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day, Cindy!
Warm hugs,
Carol
